After I had our first child, my husband was acting weird; he was unusually quiet and seemed to be in daze. At first I thought it was the excitement of our new arrival and becoming a father as well as having new responsibilities. As the days went by he was still the same, it was as though he was thinking about something which was very serious.

Eventually after a week I decided to ask him if there was anything wrong, but he just replied with a simple no, now I was even more worried. I started to think of the worst like he’s lost his job or we won’t be able to bring up our child or even worse he is having second thoughts about being a father.

Later that night I asked him again but this time I was firm when questioning him, to my surprise he said there is something that is bothering him. Thinking the worst I asked what it was, he replied saying that he feels guilty for not giving me a gift.

Now I was totally baffled, I couldn’t figure out what he was going on about, what gift was he talking about? After a long pause he finally completed his sentence, he wanted to buy me a gift to say thank you because I gave him the best gift ever, our baby.


Another week later, my husband bought me a new car so I could take our baby out whenever I felt like without worrying about using the bus or train. I couldn’t believe it; I had a brand new Ford Fiesta in Crosby.
