Top five second hand cars

Buying a second hand car isn’t always straight forward and sometimes it might be worth going online and research what online magazines have said about various makes and models.



Recently a used car sales website published their top five second hand cars of 2010 based on searches on their website. This survey doesn’t necessarily tell you anything about drivability or reliability but it does give you an indication how popular a car is amongst your fellow drivers.



The most searched for car was the BMW 3 series which according to the website is a car with low running costs that has always been a favourite amongst British car buyers. Runner up was Volkswagen Golf, a car which is described as an excellent performer with stylish interior. However, the online magazine estimated the cars’ running cost to be about 35 percent higher than that of the BMW. In third place came the Ford Focus which is cheaper to run than the Golf but still higher than the BMW. The Ford Focus is allegedly a car popular amongst families due to its superior legroom both front and back. The Vauxhall Astra came in fourth in this survey and has running costs which are comparable to the BMW 3 series. And the same can be said for number five on the list, the Audi A4. It is described as a comfortable car and although perhaps conservative looking, it’s a very popular choice amongst car buyers.
